Terms of Service

Draft, to be reviewed

Last updated: [MARINA: date]

These terms apply to the Style Passport, a personal styling service provided by [MARINA: legal name of the business or sole proprietor] (“Marina Nova”, “we”, “us”) to you, the client. By applying for and paying for the service, you agree to them.

1. What the service is

The Style Passport is a personal styling consultation together with a written style guide delivered as a private website. It is an informational and advisory service, based on professional judgment and taste. It is not medical, psychological, nutritional or financial advice, and it is not a shopping or procurement service.

Styling is a matter of judgment and taste. We do not promise any particular outcome, reaction from others, or result in your personal or professional life.

2. What is included

Anything not listed above — additional calls, shopping accompaniment, wardrobe visits, work for other people — is not included and is agreed and priced separately.

3. Applications and places

Work is taken on by application. Submitting an application is free and does not create a contract. We may decline an application without giving reasons, including when we believe the service is not the right fit for what you are asking for.

A place is confirmed only when payment has been received in full. Prices are stated in US dollars and may change at any time for new applications; the price you were quoted at confirmation is the price that applies to your work.

4. Timing and what we need from you

After confirmation you receive a photo protocol and a questionnaire. The work begins once both have been submitted in full and the photographs meet the protocol.

Indicative timings: the consultation is scheduled within [MARINA: days] of your materials arriving, and the finished guide is delivered within [MARINA: days] of the consultation. These are estimates, not guarantees. Delay caused by late, incomplete or unusable materials, or by rescheduling on your side, moves the delivery date accordingly.

A consultation may be rescheduled once at no cost with at least [MARINA: notice, e.g. 24 hours] notice. A missed consultation without notice counts as delivered.

If we do not hear from you for [MARINA: period, e.g. 90 days] after confirmation, the work may be closed as completed and the fee is not refundable.

5. Rights in the materials

Your photographs and answers stay yours. You keep all rights in the material you send us. By sending it, you grant us a limited licence to use it for one purpose only: preparing and delivering your style guide. You confirm that you have the right to send us everything you send.

The guide is yours to use, not to republish. The style guide, its text, its structure, the methodology behind it and the website it is delivered on remain our intellectual property. You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use your guide for yourself, indefinitely, including saving or printing it for your own use.

You may not resell it, publish it in full, share the private link publicly, or use it to train an automated system or to build a competing service. Quoting a passage or showing a page to a friend, a hairdresser or a tailor is fine.

We will not publish anything of yours without your written consent. Your photographs, your guide and the fact that you are a client are not used in marketing unless you agree to it in writing, and you may withdraw that agreement at any time.

Third-party images used as references inside a guide belong to their respective owners and are included for illustration within your private document only.

6. Hosting of your guide

Your guide is published at a private link on our own server, set to be excluded from search engines. We undertake to keep it available for [MARINA: period] from delivery. We recommend saving your own copy. A private link is not a password: anyone you send it to can open it.

7. Conduct

The consultation is a professional conversation. We may end a call and close the work without refund in case of abusive, harassing or discriminatory behaviour.

Calls are not recorded by us unless we both agree in advance. Please do not record without asking first.

8. Payments and refunds

Payment is made in full before the work begins, through the payment method we send you at confirmation. Refund conditions are set out in full in our refund policy, which forms part of these terms.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for purchasing decisions you make on the basis of the guide. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms for future work. The version in force when your place was confirmed applies to your work.

These terms are governed by the laws of [MARINA: state, e.g. the State of California, USA], and the courts of that place have jurisdiction.

Questions: [MARINA: email].
